Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Board & Train stay last?

Every Board & Train programme is a minimum three-week stay — long enough to build habits that hold once your dog is home. The right length for your dog depends on their starting point and your goals, which we'll talk through before booking.

How much does Board & Train cost?

Board & Train is priced per week across three programmes: Everyday Companion at £600/week, Town & Trail Ready at £700/week, and the Ultimate Adventure Companion at £1000/week. Every programme includes regular updates throughout the stay and a 1-1 handover session at the end.

What happens during a Board & Train stay?

Your dog lives in with daily focused training sessions, building from calm foundations — loose-lead walking, settle training and impulse control — through appropriate real-world exposure suited to the programme, from town streets and cafés to trails, livestock and water. You receive regular updates throughout, and the stay finishes with a 1-1 handover so the progress transfers to you.

How much do 1-1 training sessions cost?

A one-hour 1-1 session is £60, tailored to your goals. A block of five sessions is £250, saving £50. You'll leave each session with clear, achievable exercises to practise in your own time.

Where are you based, and which areas do you cover?

Outdoor K9 Club is based in Cambridgeshire and works across the surrounding counties: Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Buckinghamshire. Outside these areas? Get in touch — I may still be able to help.

Can you help with reactivity?

Yes. My own journey into training began with a reactive German Shepherd whose world had shrunk to a single quiet route — so I know what it's like to live with. The approach is behaviour-led: understanding your dog's genetics, drives and needs, then building the structure, fulfilment and confidence that grows their world back out.

Not sure which programme fits?

Tell me about your dog and what you're hoping for — I'll point you to the right starting point.
